Utopia of the Seas
Utopia of the Seas is the 6thfeatured ship of theOasis Class from Royal CaribbeanInternational and is currently the second largest ship in the world.Insteadof focusing on allthe same amazing offerings that all Oasis Class ships have, for which there are many, suchas the different neighborhoods including Central Park & The Boardwalk, I want to focusmore on a few new items that make the Utopia even more spectacular and differentthanits older sister ships.
A fun fact aboutThe Utopia of the Sea isthat this isthe first Oasis Class ship to everoperate on liquefied naturalgas (LNG), which is a cleaner environmental option. I boardedthebrand-newUtopiaon August 26th, 2024, at Port Canaveral. It took me about 40minutes fromarrivaltoboardthe ship, whichisgreattimingwhen you’re talking about aship that can have an occupancy of just under 6900 with all berths filled! What a beautifulship she is!!So much action going on.
All elevators on Utopia operate from a tablet in front of the elevator banks. Simply push which deck you would like to head to, and the tablet assigns you a specific elevator take. It’s a very neat option with less of a rush for guests to pack into a single elevator that will make a stop on multiple floors. My balcony stateroom was located on deck 14 forward, I found my stateroom to be spacious and featuring a 65-inch flat screen TV as well as an ample amount of USB plugs.
Utopia of the Seas has 4 new areas compared to its sister ships that are worth mentioning. The Royal Railway – Utopia Station, is an interactive dining experience in two custom train cars for passengers to experience a show and enjoy a nice meal. While I was unable to book a reservation due to its high demand it has wonderful reviews from everyone I’ve spoken to about it. Another new area on this ship is the Pesky Parrot, a Caribbean-style tiki bar for frozen drinks and a mechanical Parrot that sits watching and talking in the corner. There are two new restaurants, Izumi and Teppanyaki Grill, located inside Central Park and sold out every night! Exclusively to Utopia of the Seas, there are two Solarium Suites which feature 280-degree views with floor to ceiling windows that provide an amazing sight to see each day.
This ship, like all Oasis Class ships, has so many activities going on. The shows were spectacular with a nice variety of singing and dancing! Live music was plentiful at various venues. Royal Caribbean Ships have a nice amount of dedicated meeting space for your group or charter needs which is no different for this ship.
My final thoughts:
The brand-new Utopia of the Seas is quite impressive! Like other Oasis Class ships, Utopia offers something for everyone in your group to enjoy. We would absolutely recommend Utopia for your next group or business needs at Sea.
