Cruising on Seabourn Odyssey
In March we had the opportunity to sail on Seabourn Odyssey in the Caribbean. Our itinerary was Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Bonaire, Curacao, and Aruba with a day at sea. Admittedly it has been awhile since anyone from Worldwide had sailed on a Seabourn ship so we were all really looking forward to seeing what they had to offer.
First impressions of the ship were great. Staff was welcoming and accommodating, from the Hotel Director and officers waiting on the pier to the suite stewardesses who promptly welcomed you and were quick to show you around and ensure you had everything you needed in your suite. Our welcome champagne was ready for us as soon as we boarded, and despite COVID regulations check-in was a breeze.
January,I had the exceptionalopportunity to escort my client onSeabournPursuit toAntarctica. While I could go on and on about the experience, this review will be about theship. The Pursuit was delivered in 2023, and her sister the Venture in 2021. They are new,purpose-builtExpedition Ships with all the bells and whistlesto make any expedition cruiseexception. She boasts an ice breaker haul, and millions of dollars of technology to makeremote travel safe and comfortable. With a capacity of 264 passengers (132 suites) she isthe perfect size for remote destinations.
First, she has 2 MAJOR benefits. She has 2 separatevenues that can hold the entireships’capacity all together atone time. The Restaurant and Discovery Center (the theater) areperfect for hosting seminars, expedition talks, then moving to dinner all together as agroup.
