CRUISING ON SILVERSEA’S SILVER RAY

Cruising with Silversea is always a pleasure and enjoyable experience. What’seven more special is not only cruising but being part of the naming of a newvessel. Each cruise line have theirown traditions and ceremonies that arepart of the show. The real star of the show in most cases is the new vesselherself. Silver Ray while the second in a new style of ship didn’t disappoint.

The first thing that makes the Ray different than most 5 starluxury ships is thenew deck plan. Most of these ship 700ish passengers or less are based ondesign that stacks all of the public rooms are the stern of the ship onnumerous decks. The Ray and her sister Nova have a design more along thetraditionallines of larger ship being public rooms are located horizionallyseveral decks.

The end result a ship that feels much more spacious than her predecessors.Hallways are wider, lounges are larger and you have more public space. Theupper decks get largeras well. Another new idea is having the swimming poolon the side of the ship versus the center of the ship with the pool bar nowbeing in the center of the ship. We never did get really see this area in actiondue to the cool weather.

The ship has anabundance of dining venues both casual and formal.Numerous lounges and some with nightly music. One of the most popularspots is the Arts Café coffee shop right by the front office and tour desk. Avery popular meeting spots any time of day. Bottom line you’ll findentertainment in the evening to challenge any larger ship or just a nice quietspot to have an after dinner drink.

All accommodations are suites that will satisfy and surprise any participant.Walking closets, larger balconies,a bathroom that works for 2 people at atime with proper showers and baths. The real plus is having a real dedicatedButler for each suite. Silversea’s Butlers are honestly the best in the industry.In-Suite parties, no problem, white table cloth hot breakfast on your balconyor in your suite, no problem. A true sanctuary at sea.

Silversea is very inclusive and much affordable than you might think. Silversea is sure to impress any President or CEO and set a new high for the troops. This ship is great for groups a nd of course charters think ships that around 750 guests to 300.
