Cruising on the Celebrity Apex

Having sailed twice on the Celebrity Edge in the past, I had raised the bar high for the Celebrity Apex. I was not disappointed!! We loved everything about this ship! In many ways it’s very similar in design and engineering to the Celebrity Edge, but it’s decorated very different. The Apex has an amazing style and decor that ranges from very tasteful to subtly crazy and fun artwork and plenty of it. We had a Sky Suite, with that Suite came the Suite Perks including VIP boarding from an upper deck lounge in Port Everglades. The boarding lounge came complete with plenty of comfortable seating as well as plenty of finger foods to enjoy. Among other suite perks this week we enjoyed were $600 in onboard spending credit, All Inclusive Premium Beverages for us both, Premium Wi-Fi, Staff Gratuity, access to the Retreat-a suite only private pool deck section and exclusive access into the Luminae restaurant for suite guests only. So far nothing to not love to say the least on that upgrade with Celebrity. They definitely know how to treat all guests well but especially the Suite Experience.

This ship has such a nice flow to it and it truly felt like a brand new ship. In many ways it was! This ship was to debut in March 2020 and Covid 19 hit right before it started sailing. It sat with all the other ships in the world for 16 months or so. And as for this sailing, this ship had only been sailing with paying clients for about 7 months or so. So still a very new ship indeed. Celebrity has really taken these Edge Class ships to a higher level then past ship builds. The ability to choose one of the four main dining rooms that feel more like smaller specialty restaurants each night is so nice and more intimate then the huge dining rooms on ships of the past.

Like the Celebrity Edge, This ship has the most popular sections such as Eden restaurant, the Rooftop Garden and of course, the Magic Carpet. The Magic Carpet is an 80 foot floating platform that hangs over the edge of the ship on the middle starboard side of the ship serving drinks during the day and transforms into a restaurant at night. You’ll find the Magic Carpet anywhere between decks 2 to 16 on tracks and it mostly hangs up by the pool deck during the day. The service on the Celebrity Apex held up to the high standards that Celebrity has on all their ships and everyone had an amazing cruise. If you go on the Apex keep your eyes open for the artwork, not just paintings, but various statues in various places. This ship is truly a work of art in itself.

At 129,500 Gross Tons and 2910 Passenger Capacity based on double occupancy, Celebrity Apex is very large ship and can easily host your group and give them an amazing time in the process. The entertainment onboard was quality and we truly enjoyed the shows. The casino was of good size and had the latest slot machines along with your favorite table games. The food was above average for cruise line fare.

My final take on Celebrity Apex: I found nothing that I didn’t love about the Celebrity Apex! From service to style to being fun and beautiful all at once! It’s truly become one of my favorite ships and I’m returning to it in the Spring of 2023 to enjoy it again. Do yourself and your group a favor and come enjoy it too. You won’t regret it.
