Le Boreal floated out in Ancona |

 Following Le Boreal’s float out last week, Fincantieri’s Ancona drydock is ready to begin construction of Le Ponant’s second newbuild, L’Austral, due for delivery in May 2011.
The float out ceremony for the first luxury yacht was attended by Compagnie du Ponant’s general manager, Jean-Emmanuel Sauvée, and deputy gm, Véronique Saadé, as well as Jean-Philippe Lemaire, master of the ship.
Following delivery of the pair of newbuilds Ponant’s fleet will total 454 cabins on five luxury vessels. |

Véronique Saadé, godmother of the newbuild, welded a gold coin on Deck 7. Sea
trials are scheduled for early January. Delivery is planned for April and the
inaugural cruise in May.
